Top Port Harcourt base Nigerian comedian, KOBaba has taken a wipe at Rivers State government Officials for their negligence in the growth of the State entertainment industry.
His reactions came as the Rivers State government official who are in charge of year’s National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST) failed to engage entertainers, bloggers and media professionals in the State.
See what he KOBaba posted:
Matters Arising…… NAFEST
I will do my best to make this post as brief as possible. This post is not for banter, at least I have to call on people I consider as friends and paddy. We owe the growing generation a responsibility and I happen to see myself at the center of that task. I have answered too many questions and at the same time feel very disappointed with the way a set of people who are fortunate to be saddle with responsibility when major events are done miss the mark and display misfit attitude in engaging entertainers in the city.
Everything rises and fall on the shoulder of the governor, even when he has delegated the job and ask for maximization of local content, you will hardly see that, especially because there is LOC that doesn’t think grassroots. I don’t want to bother about them, I want to hold some of my friends who are close to the government even if they are not in position to pull this decisions, but can put the voice and get results.
Please when this continuous neglect of the entertainers, bloggers and media professionals happens, it makes the government look insensitive to our industry, and it has even happen in cases where the governor gave instructions and that instruction was not followed, what have you done to help the growing generation and industry.
The city is on the rise, most of our results are self made and determination. Please Hon. Enemi Alabo George, Oraye St. Franklyn, Marshal Obuzor, Ayara Margaret, Igochi Akaninwa, Bright Jossy, Jikume Bethlehem, Endurance Elenwo, Ichenwo Goodluck, Adokiye Uwamekénim Oyagiri,What has been your reactions and I know you can raise your voice and make sure this narrative is corrected.
Even for 1 million naira I won’t accept to perform at NAFEST again because have made this post and I won’t like it to look like I was speaking for myself. When a State owned event such as NAFEST is happening in the State, it has to bring economy value to the entertainers, bloggers should be engaged, our cinematographere and photographers would have a place in the plan. If neccesary because it’s one major reason why we are hosting, it comes with an economy value. It’s encouraging to get Returns on Investment after you have worked, recorded, invested in promotion and slot of things, getting paid gives you the energy to workharder and much more. Our people need all the encouragement and support. Sorry say e no come dey brief. Thanks and God bless.”
