“Remember Lot’s Wife”

Our lesson today is so important that I don’t think that
there is anybody here that will neglect the lessons and morals from it.

“Remember Lot’s Wife” Luke 17:32
Genesis 19:26 clearly
tells us what she did that we must remember and avoid in life; “But his
wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.”

What does it mean to “looked back”?
1.    It entails
committing sins after you have been saved from your formal sin;
2.     It means admiring the things which you have
denounced in the past: that is going “back to your vomit” 2 Peter 2:22.
3.    It means abandoning
the great work which was committed to
your hand.
4.    It means
loving the world more than God 2 Timothy 4:10, etc.
Christian race is meant to be steadfast journey and does not
require looking back.
“Know ye
not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run,
that ye may obtain.”
1 Corinthians 9:24.
There is a prize that we are all running to obtain which is
the reward from God.
Lot’s wife did not remember the danger of being consistency
in the race. An athlete who desire to obtain the first prize do not by any
means look back because behind, there are lots of distractions which you may
encounter, looking back is a sign of failure and inadequacies.
Friend, there are many things that will not allow you to run
till the end: the ‘glories’ of the world and its pride has made many great men
and women who desire to run till that end to look back.
Be careful least you become entangled by the devil.
