Pastor Kumuyi's Monday Bible Study Excerpt:

The Saviour's Offer Of Glorious Salvation Text: John 4:1-10

From the text John 4:1" WHEN therefore the Lord knew how Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples man John". The beginning of the verses refers to the topic "THE SAVIOR'S OFFER OF GLORIOUS SALVATION".

He offers us salvation free that helps us here on earth through eternity. We see Jesus Christ given us the clear understanding of his ministry, and of his life on earth. That shows us why we should know why we are here on earth. Satan came and tempted him, and Satan could not derail him of what he came on earth to do.

 Jesus Christ, there was no external drive hinders him. Jesus Christ was focus, He kept all what He came on earth to do. In verse 2 "The same came to Jesus by night and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him". Jesus Christ is more successful in reaching out to people than John. In verse 3"He left Judea, and departed again into Galilee".

There are many people they do not know how to place the word of God in their life, and they do not understand how Jesus Christ departed. In Matthew 16:1,4; what is the sign of prophet Jonah (He left them and departed).

There are many who do not know how to depart from their evil ways. There are so much pressure, so much activities that hinders them from God word, no time for them to evaluate their life. When activities pressure you, there is concussion in verse 32" And they departed into a desert place by ship privately ". In the book of Luke 4:32-34; John 6:14,15. He departed again into a mountain himself alone.
As Jesus was wise whenever he wants to depart, His ministry was faithful.

John 4:1-3; Mark 1:14; Luke 5:32; Matthew 18:23; Luke 10:20; John 8:30-32.
There are two things Jesus Christ did, He (Make and Baptized).

The word Make - That Jesus Christ concentrated in making His disciples (Through Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples).

What did Jesus did to make his disciples to turn from their sin, and brought them to salvation.
- He converted them i.e. the sinners
- He turn them in to light i.e. from darkness
- He transform their life i.e. their old scriptures.

Jesus Christ, He make them His disciples. They were in darkness and He bring them to light. The one that knows they were sinners and come to the Lord. In Matthew 18:23"Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants." Jesus wanted them to take the definite step of faith (Saved). Jesus said " Except you are converted " before He could baptized them.
- So that it will bring them sense of belonging. Jesus was interested in their conversion so that, they can enter the kingdom of heaven. You must totally declared, come to Christ as He is your Master, only then will He (Jesus) baptized them.

There are people who hide idols in their life, in their thought [Luke 10:29] - Those are the people He baptized. Heaven knows about their conversion, it is because their (your) name are written in heaven.
BAPTISM - Baptism is not for infants. - Baptism is not by sprinkle of water.
- Baptism is not by sprinkle of water.
- Baptism is not sign of cross on the foreheads.
It means to deep, and to bury that image (Someone) inside water. Fr the book of [John 3:22,23; they need to be immerse inside the water.
 The Lord has given us commission in Mark 16:15,16.  Here is what the Lord has given as commandments " He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be damned". What Jesus make?
* He baptized them after they became his disciples (Matthew 28:18-20).

John 4:4-6; Luke 4:42-43; John 9:4,5; John 4:4; Isaiah 12:3; Ezekiel 36:25; Isaiah 44:3; John 7:7; Isaiah 49:10; Revelation 22:17-21.

His life was known to his father, He knew why He came. There was a direction in His life, a man of purpose (A purpose for his living). There is purpose, anything you are doing in your life. Our Lord Jesus was compulsion in your life. Our Lord Jesus Christ was compulsion of MUST of His daily life.

The "Must" implies that
- You're compelled, necessity, duty, life time essentials. The same thing that is compulsory, been compelled by eternal appointment.
- Knowing what is meant to be save.
- You knowing where you must go.
- You must meet the church giver.
- Your life must be complete.
- You must developed definite grow.

There must be discipline, self-denial, devotion, desire "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man work". In John 9:5" As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world". Jesus Christ;
* The Savior of the woman.
* The Savior if the Samaria
* The Savior of the nation
* The Savior of the world.

3. HIS CONVERSATION AND HIS MESSAGE FOR A SINNER.* John 4:7-10; Genesis 24:43; Proverbs 23:26; Ecclesiastic 5:2-7; John 4:3.

The conversation of Jesus Christ to the Samarian woman, Jesus started the conversation. He is the Savior that takes the initiative of soul winner of the woman at the well, she didn't understand who Jesus was.
What Jesus is asking for in [Proverbs 23:26] here he said; "My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways".

He made peace He created you, He needs your heart. He wants to give you His eternal. The Lord is talking to you to "HOLD ON" and to keep His peace. When Jesus said, you should ask, and you shall have the living water [Isaiah 12:3] - Talking about the blessing of:

* Sanctification
* Holy Ghost Baptism
* Satisfaction.

You give your life ,and your heart to him, He will cleanse you with the (Living water of life). For every believer, He still needs your heart so you can have the living water. He has salvation, cleansing, sanctification and satisfaction "WATER". The Lord is inviting you, to give your life unto Him, for the water of life is available for you. May God help us to become purposeful in life.
