Filled Under:

Be Watchful and Prayerful

Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter. "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." Matthew 26:40-41

Most Christians in this dispensation are the like early disciples (at their early stage) who do not take spiritual instruction seriously until they found themselves in nasty situation.

The war against humanity is mostly staged at night when all men are asleep. Therefore, Christians should be watchful and prayerful because the devil is like a roaring lion walking around, looking whom to destroy but those that wait constantly on the LORD are sure of victory no matter how the fierce the fight may be.

But those that resolve to be sleeping when they supposed to be awake will be devour by the devil. We must be always in the battle mood knowing that the devil and his demons never rest or get tired.

You  do not prepare for war in the battle field, you prepare for war before the battle field.

Until you discover whom you are, you will not be able to overcome the enemy.

Below are some of the things that we must always keep in check in our life at all times if we must overcome the devil on these last days when everything seems to be appealing but the reverse is the case.

1.    Mind Your Thought: Our heart is the center of all the activities that we carries out on our daily life. We must therefore, watch what goes on in our heart and keep check of them before they destroy us and ruin our eternal destiny.

2.    Watch your actions: Your action says lot about you. What many people fail to understand is that devil instigate us to carry our actions that are disgusting.

3.  Be careful on what you read: the books and other materials you read speaks look about you. Be careful!

This days, devil have gotten another strategy but using internet and social media to draw the souls of men to himself.

Mind what you read!

4.     Be careful where you go:   The devil comes in many ways to bring people down. That’s why we must be very careful in all our dealings. The Bible gave us the account of Dinah the daughter of Jabob, whose life ruined as a result of unguided visit.

“Now Dinah the daughter of Leah, whom she had borne to Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land.  And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her and lay with her, and violated her. “Genesis 34:1-2

Jesus, in Mark 13:37 warned; What I say to you, I say to everyone: 'Watch!”
