6 Essentials of Spiritual Growth Growth is one of the important thing in any living thing. No parent will be happy when their child is not growing as expected. That is why parents make it point of duty in providing all the necessary thing their children need to grow well. Growth is a continuous process. In this post, we will be looking at six essential ingredients that will enhance spiritual growth in the life of believer who wishes to grow. The moment Christians stops growing, backsliding will set in. a believer must therefore make conscious effort to grow. 1.	Self-Examination: Self-examination is one thing that believers should never neglect. “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.” 2 Corinthians 13:5 2.	Laying aside every weight: Sin is a weight that can drag a believer out of the track. In order to maintain the righteous track therefore, we must make conscious effort in removing anything that will hinder us from achieving our major aim, which is making heaven at the end of the day. 3.	Regular Study and Meditation on the Word of God: There is no student that is willing to achieve success in his or her education without giving his/her best in studying recommended textbooks from the school authority. In the same way, no believer can receive instruction from God without studying the Bible because therein are everything that will make us to be truly what God want us to be. Joshua received a command to study and meditate on the word of God if he desired success and the same is applicable to us today (Joshua 1:8). 4.	Praying always: Is there a set time for prayer? I strongly believe that the answer is capital NO. 1 Thessalonian 5:17 clearly instruct us to “Pray without ceasing” and Jesus told His disciple the similar thing “that men ought always to pray and not to faint.” Luke 18:1 5.	Obedience to Great Commission: God derives pleasure when His children are obeying His command. For example we have been told to “go and preach the gospel to every creature”. Obedience to this command makes God happy. 6.	Regular Attendance to Fellowship with Like-minded faithful brethren: Associating ourselves to other believers is a great sign that we desire growth. You are whom are associate yourself with. For us to grow, we must attend fellowship in our respective churches and have the desire to grow in the Lord.
