THIS IS EXCERPT OF LAST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH (OCTOBER) MESSAGE BY PASTOR KUMUYI LIVE FROM NASSARAWA STATE ON SUNDAY 30TH OCTOBER, 2016

Anointing is very significant. Kings in the Old Testament were all anointed. In our text, the men of Judah came together to anoint David as king, this is the second time.
In I Samuel 16:13, we see the first instance of David's anointing by Prophet Samuel.
The consequence of the anointing was that the Spirit of God came upon David from that day forward. At the third instance in II Samuel 5:3, all the elders came together to anoint him king over the whole of Israel in Hebron.
Anointing must be largely important for David to be anointed three times. Secondly, we see the anointing of Jesus Christ, the Son of David and thirdly, we see our own anointing today as believers. We are saved and anointed to serve and fulfill our God-ordained destiny.

David was anointed to:
- Reign
- Represent the Almighty God, a Regent who would stand in for Him.
- Resist and restrain the enemies of Israel (that would have swallowed up the people of God).
- Reproduce and re-establish the rule of God over Israel.

A.      The Power Of Christ's Anointing

David had come and gone but Jesus reigns forever and ever. He is alive. Psalm 2:6-7, 2; 45:6-7. This is about Christ in prophetic vision. Eventually, He came into the world in a manger.
Luke 4:18-20. The anointing is for a purpose. It has power,  Luke 4: 21. (The Scripture is fulfilled in our lives and family today!). Jesus was anointed to save from sin, heal sicknesses and diseases, deliver the oppressed, conquer the devil. He was anointed to restore us to the original state - Acts 10:38.

- Samuel anointed David in chapter 16, and in chapter 17, he conquered Goliath. The victory was not for himself but for the nation of Israel.
- After the anointing, Samuel departed to his house, but in the case of Jesus, God anointed and stayed with Him in ministry. Today, we will recover all that we have lost in Jesus mighty name.

B. The Possibilities Of The Conqueror's Anointing - I Samuel 16:13.
The secret of power, victory and divine sustenance is in the anointing. You can tell when you see a man anointed of God. David had courage and confidence to face and conquer Goliath, just as he did the lion and the bear.
Psalm 89:20. Though God sent Samuel to anoint David, He was the One that actually did the anointing.

C. The purpose of his current anointing.

God anoints us for a purpose, for a reason. Here, we examine the purpose of Christ's current anointing. He is the Head of the church and has commissioned us to do on earth, what He would have stayed here to do. Eph 5:30; I John 2:27.

His anointing is currently on us:
- To rule over our internal enemies (self)
- To reign in righteousness
- To restrain Satan and his servants
* There is an anointing that puts Satan, people with occult power where they belong. Romans 16:20
- To reproduce God's dominion on earth
- To restore fully to us all that we have lost
- To root out all that the heavenly Father has not planted in us
- To re-establish God's full and final control over our lives.
God starts by giving salvation, after which other blessings follow. He anointed Jesus Christ to save and deliver all sinners from sin.

Prayer:
* May God keep and bless our father in the Lord for us
* May we not be hearers only, but doers of the word in Jesus name.
