5 Practical ways to rely on Divine strength for success

5 Practical ways to rely on Divine strength for success,Christian Women Mirror February 2016.

Relying on divine strength doesn’t mean you neglect your skills, talents, training and professionalism God endowed you with those gifts because every good gift come from Him (James 1:17).

But relying on them alone to do without depending on God to help you properly utilize them will ensure your failure in life.

You should depend on God all the time because He’s the One that gives you the faith you need to make it through those times when you can do nothing or when you don’t know what to do.

Here are some of the practical ways to ensure that we obtain divine help and strength for success at all times.

1. PRAY: Prayer is acknowledgement of God’s power, promises and provision. When you pray, you show your dependence on God. The bible enjoins us to wait on the Lord in prayer. It ensures that “those that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up wings like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).

2. HONOUR THE BIBLE: The Bible has information, instructions, and examples, and promises for all Christians. Read it every day. Check everything against the truth of the Bible.   Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.” (Acts 17:11) when there is a conflict between what the Bible says and what anyone else says, go with the Bible. In Psalm 85:8, the psalmist says, “I will hear what God the Lord shall speak.”

When you arm yourself with the Word of God and apply it to every situation in your life including your work, you’ll have a desirable result.

3. ABIDE: IN CHRIST: The Christian life is not a now-and then rendezvous with God. It making God your dwelling place, living with Him. Jesus puts it this way: “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me…for without me ye can do nothing” John 14:4-5.

4. SHUN SIN: Sin disconnects you from God who is the source of strength. So if you’re a sinner, repent of your sins, and accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour.
If you are a Christian, stay away from sin and stay with God who has the answer to all of life’s situations.

 5. REFUSE TO WORRY: God cares for His children even more than the grass that He clothes with flowers and the birds that He feeds daily. Yes, you have needs, but God knows.
“…For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things” Matthew 6:32. Learn to cast all your anxieties at work on Him because He cares for you. Keeping some of the anxieties yourself is to doubt God’s care.
